Plaster tiles are primarily used for constructing 7 or even 10 cm thick partitions in buildings such as hospitals and all public venues. Selected because of their high quality sound and heat insulation properties, robustness and resistance to impact.

5 cm thick versions of plaster tiles are also used to advantage, combined with a layer of glass wool or similar material, for internal lining of external domestic walls.
Thanks to the combination of these properties, the plaster tile guarantees a level of comfort that no other second fit standard range product can equal.

Its advantages.

Its fire resistanceproperties with a true and real M0 rating. In the event of a fire, it can throttle flames at its peripheral nesting mouldings. Thus preventing the fire from penetrating through the partition unlike materials using peripheral butt joints.

• Its water resistanceproperties, in particular the water repellent version. This is an unbeatable advantage for the construction of the lower sections of partitions and linings, in two or three tiers, depending on risks prevailing in areas where homes are at risk from flooding.

•Its ability to regulate the ambient humidity regulation in rooms by absorbing or not airborne humidity.

• Its outstanding sound insulation properties produced by the product’s mass effect.

• Its strength and robustness make it the perfect material for long term major fixings and support structures used for heavy loads.
Such as, for instance, kitchen units where inserts into partitions will no longer be required in anticipation of the precise positioning of future storage units. (Precautions that are very difficult to anticipate when installing partitions etc.)
The same applies to efficient and durable fixings for electrical units such as power sockets, switches, heating radiators and also curtain poles etc.

Its different products.

• «Solid» plaster tiles
• «Hollow» or «reticulated» plaster tiles
• Standard and water repellent plaster tiles.
The following dimensions are available as standard: 66.6 x 50 cm. Allow 3 times for a 1 m² area.

The standard thicknesses available are : 5cm, 6 cm, 7cm, 8 cm, 10cm. (These thicknesses may vary depending on the country where the products are used).

The plaster tile is used in 2very different areas of application :

1/ A standard dry environment : Made solely of water and plaster, these tiles are assembled using a mineral adhesiveand can be papered or tiled over direct without the need for sizing due to the exceptional quality of their surface finish. (Clearly, the quality of this surface finish will depend on that of the mould).

2/ Wet environment : This is where "water repellent" tiles are used. These tiles may be subject to flooding, various water leakages without suffering any damage to their structure during or after the incident.

Their use and the equipment required.

The following materials are required for constructing your plaster tile partitions :

Plaster tiles (allow for a 5% wastage)
Plaster tile adhesive (allow approximately 2 kg/m²)

1 aluminium rule
1 stirrer
1 mallet
1 float
2 buckets
1 broom
1 trowel
1 measuring tape
1 pencil
1 level gauge
1 handsaw (preferably with tungsten carbide teeth).
